In a sign that scarce books will often sell for a great price, even in a down economy, one of 200 limited edition copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (which was renamed to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone for release in the U.S.) The limited edition, in wraps (softcover), was published by Bloomsbury in 1997 and included an illustrated card signed by author J.K. Rowling. The winning bidder was a comic book collector from Dubai who’s wife is a big Harry Potter fan.
